Immediately prior to being a district court judge, Judge Mobley served as a magistrate judge in Mecklenburg County for 9 years. There she presided over traffic court, landlord tenant court, small claims court, emergency involuntary commitment hearings, and weddings. She held probable cause hearings with police offers seeking search warrants and arrest warrants.

Judge Mobley also held truancy court at a Charlotte Mecklenburg public school before normal court hours began. There she worked with families whose children have had a large number of unexcused absences from school. Judge Mobley met with the parents in both a group and an individual setting in order to listen and understand the unique barriers and needs of each family. This was important to her because she believes that it is critical for our children to get a solid foundation in the form of education. They are imperative to the success of our community.

Judge Mobley’s experience outside of the courtroom includes seven years at the Bank of America and three years at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. At Bank of America, she gained extensive knowledge about the banking industry and held a managerial role. She held a managerial role at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as well. During this time, she met and empathized with many families who were learning to cope with the life changing challenges of type 1 diabetes.

Judge Mobley serves on the Memorials Committee of the Mecklenburg County Bar where she has had the honor and privilege of holding courthouse memorials for attorneys and judges that have served our community who have passed away. She has served as member of the Memorials Committee since 2018.

Judge Mobley currently serves as a board member at the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation.
